Amazing Touch: Non Surgical Mole Removal (The story of a mole)

I once read a statement that people with more number of moles tend to have longer lives. I don’t know what the explanation behind this too, and if it’s true, who knows?

Mole or nevus is normal outgrowths from the skin which does not serve any function in the body. Well at least that’s what science believe because a number of people believe that a mole plays a significant role in one’s life. Depending on the location, a mole can either bring a good luck (swerte) or bad luck (malas) to one’s life. When I was still I kid, I remember that my mother told us that our father (rest in peace papa) have moles in both sides of his shoulder, therefore he’s destined to carry all the responsibilities and problems in the family.
Another is if you have mole in your head, you’re a smart one (ahemm..I have one =), if the mole is located in your feet, you would love to go anywhere, and most of the time, you won’t be in the house and etc and etc and etc…

I, in particular have a mole in the right cheek which is approximately 0.5 mm – 1 mm in diameter. I don’t really have a strong belief that it could either bring me a good or bad luck so I just leave it as it is since aside from the fact that it’s already a part of my personality , I also believe that it’s a part of my charm (just what I believe ^_^). Medical literature would also say that a mole with smaller size have smaller risk of developing into malignancy, so I should not worry about it, though I still have to be a little watchful.

My husband has a special case. Years before, he told me that someone told him that his
mole which is located in the upper part of his lip, adjacent to his nostril can bring him good luck. But just a few days ago, he decided to have it removed because his mole is actually becoming more uncomfortable. Aside from it somehow affects his self esteem (it’s big and really noticeable), he would also feel itchiness and pain at times, especially when touched.

The fact that the mole is located in the very visible are in the face makes it more uncomfortable and troubling and the size is also considerably big. I’ve read that a mole which is the size of a pencil eraser have a higher risk of developing into melanoma, a rare but very serious type of skin cancer.

I haven’t yet read a book which says that having lots of mole is hereditary, but I just noticed that most of them in the family have many of moles which are mostly located either in the facial area or in the head.

As far as I know, there are 2 options on how to demole, the surgical and the non-surgical procedures. Since we don’t want it to be bloody, my husband chose for the second option. For many years now, he would always ask my opinion if it’s okay to use the services of RCC Amazing Touch since he had seen their flyers and he was greatly encourage by the feedback he heard about this product. This product is a Filipino invention and it has already earned a lot of recognition, not only in the country but also internationally, so there’s no reason for us to doubt or to worry.

Finally, we went to one of their clinic located at the lower ground floor of SM city Iloilo and we had him assessed and evaluated. Their clinic technician measured the diameter of his mole (around 5mm) and also told us that it is located in “T-zone”, therefore the treatment will be more expensive. We paid for around php 8, 000 for the treatment and after care products.

The procedure lasted for around 15 minutes, which really bloodless but not really painless as you can still feel some stinging sensation in the area being treated and it’s very tolerable. They claim that the product they used in made from cashew nut oil and it’s very effective and safe.

After the procedure, his mole looked the same, though there’s some redness surrounding the mole. He did not feel any pain after. They told us that mole normally fall off in 3-5 days (don’t remove it, just let it fall off), but since his mole is big, it would take around 7 days. The area should not be washed in 3-7 hours probably to prevent the drug from washing off and allow it to exert its effectiveness. We need also need to go for a follow up checkup after 7 days.

They prescribed aftercare products which includes the following:

A Glycerin soap in order to keep the skin moisturized. They says that that it can suit for all skin types, but most especially for dry, sensitive skin. The soap is colorless, foamy and scentless and very mild for the skin.

Glycerine Soap

The facial lotion (150 ml) is an antibacterial facial cleaner which contains clindamycin and thymus peptides. It claims that it helps clear up blemished skin. It can be applied in the whole face, but most especially in the mole itself and in the surrounding skin. It stings a little bit when applied.
Facial Lotion

The last one is the skin antibiotic Drying cream (5 g). It’s a topical antibiotic and should be applied very thinly on the skin because it might cause redness of otherwise. You can use cotton buds in applying it to the affected area.

Drying Cream

These products should be applied in order: glycerin soap, facial lotion and then skin drying cream. It should be applied twice a day, in the morning and upon retiring at night.

After care products: Glycerine soap, Facial lotion and Drying cream

Mole at day 3

We observed that after a few hours, some liquid oozed out of the mole. It the dried and became a brownish flakes when he woke up in the morning. We also noticed that the mole shrunk and as if it could fall off when touched. The flaking continued until the second day.

From the first day that it was treated, he could already feel itchiness in the mole and feels as if it tightens and continues until today, Day 4.

We still need to wait for 3 days more and we will surely keep you posted. Cross fingers as we are hoping for a good result!

Oh by the way, they also offer one year warranty! Once the mole comes back or if you’re not satisfied, you can have then treat you again and they also offer certificate for legal purposes since your mole is a part of your identity!

Stay tune!

Effective Management of Babies Skin Asthma

Infant's skin is naturally delicate and sensitive. When I first saw my babies, I almost could not touch them, because their skin felt so thin…it really looked so fragile that it I thought it could break no matter how gentle I am.

I know how extremely important it is to keep babies skin integrity because it is their first line of defense against infection and the fact that they’re still babies, their immune system is not yet well developed therefore I need to make sure that I give all the necessary measure to keep them healthy (apart from giving them passive natural immunity and vaccines).

No matter how vigilant I am, Jeru, my first child has developed seborrheic dermatitis when he was around 2 weeks of age. He developed rashes particularly in his face. I used Lactacyd Baby Bath (Blue) for him then because aside from having an antiseptic property, I also like its scent. I rushed our pedia after a few days since the rash in his face does not improve and then she recommended that we changed it to Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser because it is milder than Lactacyd Baby Bath. So we did and the rashes indeed improved after a few days!

When Matt was born, I never thought that he would have the same skin condition as Jeru and actually it’s worse because when he was 4 months old, he was diagnosed with skin asthma. I also tried using Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser and even Lactacyd Baby Bath but it did not improve his skin condition. Another pedia suggested using Emolkleen Gentle Emollient Bar, but it actually made the rashes worse.

I actually became ultra careful when it comes to taking care of Matt because of his very delicate skin. I decided to use purified water for his bath and I even bought a detergent that is milder than regular detergents that I used in washing his clothes. I found Cycles mild laundry detergent from SM supermarket. It’s a bit expensive, but then as a mom, I won’t take chances.

Despite of the effort, well sadly, it did not improve his condition. I am already getting desperate then! It’s hard to see my son suddenly wake up at night, scratch his face and get irritable. I couldn’t just imagine how uncomfortable it is! Aside from that, he also developed skin discoloration. Some parts of his body developed lighter skin color, particularly in his feet and tummy area! I was already alarmed, since I thought it might develop to vitiligo if it could not be managed earlier.

I therefore consulted an allergist in our area and upon seeing my son; she said that his case is actually one of the worst she had ever seen. Oh no!! But on the positive side, it can be managed, though may not be that easy.

She started prescribing Cetirizine (Allerkid) to control his allergy and she also prescribed Desonide (DesOwen Cream), a corticosteroid which I apply very thinly to Matt’s skin in order to control the itchiness, redness and irritation and it’s actually very effective. Just make sure you apply it very thinly since one of the side effects of corticosteroid creams is that it makes the skin thin and that’s a particularly important fact for children.

As part of his skin care, she advised us to use CetaphilRestoraDerm Skin Restoring Body Wash (around php 800 +) and Cetaphil RestoraDerm Skin Restoring Moisturizer (around php 1450) from a local store (but it’s also available in some drugstores). We used Cetaphil RestoraDerm Skin Restoring Body Wash twice a day, in the morning and at night while the lotion should be used as often as possible since it keeps the skin moisturized. Both products do not actually smell good, but they’re super effective! We saw improvement in just a week of use. Also, you can use one bottle of Cetaphil RestoraDerm SkinRestoring Body Wash in 3-4 months because it’s very foamy even if you just use a very small quantity. The Cetaphil RestoraDerm Skin Restoring Moisturizer also works very well even if you just apply it thinly.

Matt’s skin is improving now. He does not have rashes on his face anymore, though it occasionally appears especially if he’s exposed to dust and  if he smears his face with his saliva ( as with skin asthma, anything can be an irritant, even their saliva). As to his skin discoloration, it’s also improving, though the color of his skin in his tummy is still uneven, it’s becoming less discernible, and I will continue to be very watchful of him until he outgrew his skin asthma (hopefully)!

Bottom line? A mom should never give up, especially if it’s already the health of our child that is at stake…. ;)

Milk 101: Lactose Free Milk

Just before 2013 ends, my role of being a mom was challenged and it rather changed my perception of motherhood...That day, I just did not care how filthy I am. I did not care about the mixed smell of urine, vomitus and even feces that smeared my clothes. I did not care about how I look and I did not care what others will say. I did not even feel hungry, thirsty or sleepy! Adrenaline rush?NO! That’s mother’s love!
… and I so thank God for this experience!

My son was hospitalized a few hours before the new year 2014 and we basically spent our new year in the hospital...in a public hospital, first, because that's the nearest hospital and next because I thought that his condition is not that serious...and so I made my regrets after that because I never really expect that that is how they take care of their patients! To make the story short, we transferred to a better hospital (thanks Medical City Iloilo) because my son's condition improved in just 24 hours. He was given all the meds and antibiotics and his condition improved greatly! We were discharged after 4 days of spending in the hospital and we were also given take home meds of course! But after a few days, I noticed that there's no improvement in his BM ( by the way, he was hospitalized due to diarrhea and vomiting). We continue to give him his milk which is NAN HW 2 as per his pedia's advice. But I suspect that he can't tolerate it yet so I changed it to a lactose free Enfapro A+! ...and it worked since after just 4 feedings his stool became formed and he started gaining weight again!

Matt already gained the lost pounds in just a few weeks and we are really so happy!!!!

Being a mom is a serious business! You can never expect what will happen to your children! One day they're so healthy and then the other day, they become so sick therefore you have to be ready anytime. Once your child is hurt, you are hurt twice that's why extra care should be given to them at all times.
